Born from the Hobby
Two mates, a pile of printers, and a love for all things reef.

Steve and Mike have been mates since meeting at university decades ago. Both engineers, both tinkerers, and both hooked on 3D printing for more than ten years.
Steve has been reef keeping for almost 15 years and loves everything about the hobby — but he’s never happy to leave things alone. New equipment, new corals, new anything. Working with reef tanks and the wonderful creatures that live in them brings plenty of challenges, and some of those challenges need creative solutions.
That’s where Mike comes in. Appeal to his inner engineer and promise him more 3D printing, and you’ve got his attention. Between Steve’s obsession with reefing gear and Mike’s love of designing and building things, Reef Ahoy was born.
We’re driven by solving the problems people face with their tanks, with their ecosystems, and we want everyone to get the most out of their hobby.
What We Build & Why
Everything we sell started as something we needed for our own tanks. A feeder that actually controls the flow. A frag rack that holds properly. A sump organiser that doesn’t look like it was an afterthought.
We use 3D printing because it lets us iterate fast, make things on demand, and offer colours and customisations that mass-produced gear just can’t. No warehouses full of stock — just printers running, orders shipping, and designs improving.
All our aquarium products are printed in reef-safe PETG, and our magnets are set in clear epoxy so you can always see they’re in good nick. Our toys and desk fidgets use eco-friendly PLA for vibrant colours and fine detail.
Made in Australia 🇦🇺
Steve runs his small army of printers from Brisbane, while Mike keeps his fleet humming in Northern NSW. Every Reef Ahoy product is designed, printed, and packed right here in Australia. We don’t offshore anything.
When you buy from us, you’re supporting a local small business — and you’re getting gear made by people who actually keep reefs. We ship Australia-wide and take pride in getting orders out fast. No dropshipping, no mystery warehouses — just us, our printers, and a bunch of filament.

Got an Idea for Your Tank?
We love a custom challenge. If you’ve got a problem in your tank that needs solving, or an idea for something that doesn’t exist yet, get in touch. Some of our best products started as a message from a fellow reefer.
